HARRYHAUSEN, Ray; JURAN, Nathan Voyage of Sinbad
USA: Columbia Pictures, 1975
Poster for the re-release of The 7th Voyage of Sinbad (1958) SIGNED BY RAY HARRYHAUSEN AND DIRECTOR NATHAN JURAN.
A landmark film for its early use of Dynamation, the stop-motion animation technique pioneered by Ray Harryhausen which incorporated models into live action sequences. A fight sequence featuring Sinbad and a skeleton proved so popular that Harryhausen staged a much more elaborate scene, involving a small army of skeletons, for the 1963 film Jason and the Argonauts, which remains a high spot in the development of cinema animation.
