Services Offered
-
We regularly aid clients in starting collections from scratch and also in enriching existing collections.
No matter the collecting field, we are happy to discuss and help you build the best possible collection according to your needs.
-
While we strive to maintain a diverse inventory, we are always more than happy to aid institutional and private clients seeking specific titles not currently in stock. In these cases, we are happy to discuss your needs and budget and to seek out a copy that sits within these parameters. Once we locate an option, we will have it shipped to us for collation, authentication, and examination and will arrange its delivery to you.
-
We are always willing to talk about possible speaking/event arrangements. Carter Rare Books is committed to fostering public engagement with printed and manuscript cultural heritage objects through lectures, workshops, podcasts, Radio, TV and all forms of publications.
We are available to discuss a whole range of topics within our specialisms and more widely on rare books and public engagement with the industry to both institutional and general public audiences.
-
We purchase single volumes and entire libraries — from landmark first editions to signed books, manuscripts, and unique printed materials. We can travel both nationally and internationally to view collections.
-
We are always happy to provide free and transparent valuations on rare books, manuscripts and other printed material.
-
We have an established record in aiding artists and their heirs in placing their accumulated papers in institutions. We have both facilitated donations and the sale of archives.
We offer a transparent approach at every stage and a free initial chat to discuss your needs and desires for the paper’s future.
We see our role as a part of preserving the record of remarkable lives and achievements and making sure they are placed in worthy homes where they can be seen by researchers of the future and preserved for prosperity.
