[Nicholson, Jack] Writer’s Contract, Signed
N.p: N.p., 1965
8pp., saddle stapled, two punch holes to top edge, signatures to final page. Near fine.
Standard writer’s contract between Jack Nicholson and the agency of Adams and Ray, dated 4 March 1965, SIGNED BY ALL THREE PARTIES, and setting up a standard 10% fee for the agency for any work obtained on Nicholson’s behalf.
Before signing this contract, Nicholson had already co-written the screenplays for Thunder Island (1963) and Flight to Fury (1964). The latter was an early credit for director Monte Hellman — Nicholson went on to star in Hellman’s Ride in the Whirlwind (1966). After signing this contract with Adams and Ray, Nicholson wrote the screenplays for The Trip (1967) for Roger Corman and Head (1968) for Bob Rafelson, before making his writer-director debut with Drive, He Said (1971) — his last credit as either before devoting all his time to world superstardom.
